Amethyst

One AI interface to your apps, information, tasks and tools. A local-first personal operating system. One FastAPI backend, one React frontend, one SQLite database — everything stays on your machine. Amethyst runs an agent loop that reasons, acts, and observes — streaming every turn, tracing every tool call, and asking before anything writes or runs. It connects to your calendar, mail, tasks, and files; keeps a searchable Library of everything you save; and works with local models through Ollama for a zero-cost, zero-cloud setup, or with 21 cloud provider presets. Amethyst is the open-source project Wayn-Git/Amethyst (https://github.com/Wayn-Git/Amethyst) by Wayn-Git, released under MIT. Ion packages it unmodified from commit a4ea4bc2bb1b, adding only a manifest, an icon and a start script.

You choose each folder on your Personal Cloud, and whether it may only read it (the default) or also change it. It can send what it reads to the internet hosts above.

The app sees what your camera or the screen you share shows while its page is open. You choose which of these it gets, and your browser still asks you before each use.

Its address

Works best with its own address. A Personal Cloud shared through Cloudflare can give it one; on a private Personal Cloud on Tailscale it opens under your Personal Cloud’s address, where it may not work fully. Private and shared Personal Clouds
