The Ultimate IR Gateway for Smart Homes & MQTT. IR2MQTT bridges the gap between physical Infrared devices and your smart home. USB and serial devices on your Personal Cloud’s computer

• Can talk to a serial port on your Personal Cloud’s computer that you choose (a printer, a board, a Zigbee stick): The serial device it talks to (a USB-serial cable or board) (serial)

You pick one device for each on your Personal Cloud, and can let it only read it. It gets that device alone, never the others plugged in; one it may write to is its to command.

None. It uses nothing from your Personal Cloud beyond its own storage.

Up to 512 MB on your Personal Cloud.

Keys it asks you for

You give each one on your Personal Cloud when you install it, or give it one of your Personal Cloud’s shared secrets of the same name. Oikou never sees them.

• Asks you for: mqtt-broker — Hostname or IP of your MQTT broker (the app and the ESP32 IR bridges talk through it) (optional)
• Asks you for: mqtt-user — MQTT broker username, if it needs one (optional)
• Asks you for: mqtt-pass — MQTT broker password, if it needs one (optional)

Its address

Works best with its own address. A Personal Cloud shared through Cloudflare can give it one; on a private Personal Cloud on Tailscale it opens under your Personal Cloud’s address, where it may not work fully. Private and shared Personal Clouds
