About
BrainRotGuard puts you in control of what your kids watch on YouTube — without standing over their shoulder. Your child gets a simple web page on their tablet where they can search YouTube and request videos. Every request sends you a Telegram message with the video thumbnail, title, channel, and duration. You tap Approve or Deny right in the chat. If approved, the video starts playing on their tablet automatically. No YouTube account needed. No ads. No algorithmic rabbit holes. No "up next" autoplay. Brainrotguard is the open-source project GHJJ123/brainrotguard (https://github.com/GHJJ123/brainrotguard) by GHJJ123, released under MIT. Ion packages it unmodified from commit 2165347fd048, adding only a manifest, an icon and a start script.

What version 1.33.0 may do
Internet
It asks to reach these hosts, and no others:
- i.ytimg.com
- api.telegram.org
- www.youtube.com
- any address under youtube.com
- any address under googlevideo.com
- any address under ggpht.com
Other sites in its pages
Shows pages of these sites in its pages (opens at an address of its own):
You agree to each site on your Personal Cloud, and can remove any or add your own. They keep their own cookies and storage there; the app’s own requests still reach only the hosts it asks for above.
Personal Cloud tools
None. It uses nothing from your Personal Cloud beyond its own storage.
Notifications
It does not send push notifications.
Storage
Up to 512 MB on your Personal Cloud.
Its address
Works best with its own address. A Personal Cloud shared through Cloudflare can give it one; on a private Personal Cloud on Tailscale it opens under your Personal Cloud’s address, where it may not work fully. Private and shared Personal Clouds
Add to Personal Cloud
Sign in to add this web app to a Personal Cloud of yours. It runs there, on your own computer, and you open it from there; nothing is installed on your phone.
