Benotes

An open source self hosted web app for your notes and bookmarks side by side. This project is currently in Beta. You may encounter bugs or errors. - URLs are automatically saved with an image, title and description - supports both markdown and a rich text editor - can be installed as a PWA on your mobile devices (and desktop) - share content via this app (if installed as an PWA and supported by your browser) - collections can be shared via a public available URL - links can be instantly pasted as new posts - can be hosted almost anywhere thanks to its use of the lightweight Lumen framework and well supported PHP language - works with and without a persistent storage layer (both filesystem and S3 are supported) - can also be hosted via Docker or on Heroku - protect your data with daily backups Sign-in: this app keeps its own accounts. Each member signs up or signs in inside the app with an app username and password; the hub remembers each member's session. First account: made when the app is installed (Admin), with a password the hub generates; the hub's owner reads it on the app's Access tab, then sign in at /login. The import did not test signing in (signing in with its first account did not sign in (the page that needs the session, http://benotes.localhost:8213/login, asks for a password)). Benotes is the open-source project fr0tt/benotes (https://github.com/fr0tt/benotes) by fr0tt, released under MIT. Ion packages it unmodified from commit cb803b32340e, adding only a manifest, an icon and a start script.

The Personal Cloud makes a sign-in password for this app when it is installed. Only you can read it, on the app’s Access tab on your Personal Cloud. Oikou never sees it.

Its address

Works best with its own address. A Personal Cloud shared through Cloudflare can give it one; on a private Personal Cloud on Tailscale it opens under your Personal Cloud’s address, where it may not work fully. Private and shared Personal Clouds
