DailyNotes: Daily tasks and notes in Markdown

This project is dedicated to Joe Ipson, the original creator of DailyNotes, who passed away in the summer of 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. Joe was a kindred spirit who believed in the simple power of writing things down. He built DailyNotes to bring the mindful experience of a physical planner into the digital world. His vision was to create something personal, self-hosted, and beautifully simple. This project continues in his memory. Every commit, every feature, every bug fix is a small tribute to a dear friend whose spirit lives on in the code he wrote and the ideas he shared. Sign-in: this app keeps its own accounts. Each member signs up or signs in inside the app with an app username and password; the hub remembers each member's session. The import did not test signing in (no sign-up form found to test the cookie jar with). DailyNotes: Daily tasks and notes in Markdown is the open-source project djedi/DailyNotes (https://github.com/djedi/DailyNotes) by djedi, released under MIT. Ion packages it unmodified from commit 22f2168a8dfc, adding only a manifest, an icon and a start script.

Internet

It asks to reach these hosts, and no others:

• fonts.gstatic.com
• fonts.googleapis.com

Personal Cloud tools

• Keep a database of its own on your Personal Cloud ion.db

Notifications

It does not send push notifications.

Storage

Up to 512 MB on your Personal Cloud.

Its address

Works best with its own address. A Personal Cloud shared through Cloudflare can give it one; on a private Personal Cloud on Tailscale it opens under your Personal Cloud’s address, where it may not work fully. Private and shared Personal Clouds
