SciDataExtractor

SciDataExtractor is a web-based tool for extracting numerical data from scientific chart images. It combines an interactive React frontend with a FastAPI backend for image upload, chart calibration, curve color sampling, curve extraction, layer-assisted editing, Excel export, and optional OpenAI-compatible AI assistance. - Upload scientific chart images in PNG/JPG formats. - Calibrate chart axes with interactive point selection. - Sample curve colors and extract curve data from raster chart images. - Edit extracted points and review data before export. - Export extracted data to Excel files. - Use layer-assisted curve detection and editing workflows. - Configure OpenAI-compatible APIs for chart analysis, axis recognition, curve recognition, data cleaning, and smoothing. - Run frontend and backend together in one Linux Docker container. - Persist uploaded images and generated outputs through a mounted data directory. Origin Desktop automation depends on Windows desktop software and is intentionally not packaged in the Linux Docker image. Origin-related endpoints are preserved for API compatibility and return a stable unavailable response in Linux deployment. SciDataExtractor is the open-source project yyy-OPS/SciDataExtractor (https://github.com/yyy-OPS/SciDataExtractor) by yyy-OPS, released under MIT. Ion packages it unmodified from commit cc64963ac236, adding only a manifest, an icon and a start script.
