Snapshot Finance

Personal investing dashboard. Track positions across multiple brokerage accounts with live quotes, cost basis, sector/theme tagging, and optional AI-powered thesis review. This is a rewrite of the 2020 original. IEX Cloud shut down, Bokeh dropped its charts module, and the rest of the stack had rotted. v2 swaps in yfinance for market data, adds lot-level cost basis tracking, a valuation/concentration dashboard, and optional LLM thesis review via Claude. INITIAL_USERNAME and INITIAL_PASSWORD must be set in .env (or as env vars) before running create_initial_user. Sign-in: this app keeps its own accounts. Each member signs up or signs in inside the app with an app username and password; the hub remembers each member's session. First account: made when the app is installed (admin), with a password the hub generates; the hub's owner reads it on the app's Access tab. Snapshot Finance is the open-source project rdcolema/snapshot-finance (https://github.com/rdcolema/snapshot-finance) by rdcolema, released under MIT. Ion packages it unmodified from commit 406221bdb8e3, adding only a manifest, an icon and a start script.

Works best with its own address. A Personal Cloud shared through Cloudflare can give it one; on a private Personal Cloud on Tailscale it opens under your Personal Cloud’s address, where it may not work fully. Private and shared Personal Clouds
