ScreenREC

A modern, privacy-first web screen recorder. No ads, no time limits, no data collection. The project was initially developed by Sagnik Sahoo during the COVID-19 era to record online classes. Later, it was made open-source. V1 (Legacy): Built with Pug, Parcel, and SASS — a simple single-page recorder. Try V1 → ScreenREC is the open-source project heysagnik/screenREC (https://github.com/heysagnik/screenREC) by heysagnik, released under MIT. Ion packages it unmodified from commit f811128318f7, adding only a manifest, an icon and a storage compatibility script.

Internet

It asks to reach these hosts, and no others:

• fonts.googleapis.com
• fonts.gstatic.com
• unpkg.com
• api.github.com
• unavatar.io

Your camera, microphone and screen

• Can use your camera while you have it open

The app sees what your camera or the screen you share shows while its page is open. You choose which of these it gets, and your browser still asks you before each use.

• Keep a database of its own on your Personal Cloud ion.db
• Keep files in its own storage on your Personal Cloud ion.files

It does not send push notifications.

Runs its pages isolated (shared memory). Its pages get shared memory and precise timers, and load files from other sites only when those sites allow it.

Up to 16 MB on your Personal Cloud.
