LocalStudio.dev

LocalStudio.dev is a browser-native slide editor for people who want editable decks without handing the whole workflow to a remote workspace. Cloud presentation tools are convenient until sync becomes the product risk. LocalStudio exists for a practical reason: iCloud sync issues can lose or corrupt entire presentations, and translating a deck manually is still slow. LocalStudio keeps the deck as editable local layers and can translate the whole deck with one action when the browser AI setup is ready. It turns PowerPoint (.pptx) import, prompt generation, image creation, translation, background removal, presenter-mode PWA remote control, live speech transcripts, public audience Q&A, local project history, and S3-compatible projects into one editable slide workflow. LocalStudio.dev is the open-source project ErickWendel/localstudio (https://github.com/ErickWendel/localstudio) by ErickWendel, released under MIT. Ion packages it unmodified from commit 8fa6b89f1a08, adding only a manifest, an icon and a storage compatibility script.

Your camera, microphone and screen

• Can use your camera while you have it open
• Can use your microphone while you have it open

The app sees what your camera or the screen you share shows while its page is open. You choose which of these it gets, and your browser still asks you before each use.

Live calls

Can hold live video and audio calls with its own server through your Personal Cloud: Live calls with your camera and microphone between the app's pages, relayed by your hub

A call reaches only the app’s own server and its other members’ pages, never your network, another app or the internet, unless you let it.

Personal Cloud tools

• Keep a database of its own on your Personal Cloud ion.db
• Keep files in its own storage on your Personal Cloud ion.files
